Pat Bilow serves God as an Ohio District gift planning counselor with The LCMS Foundation. Pat helped Ray and Marj Wachtmann find just the right way to demonstrate their thanks to God.
In Matthew 9:37, Jesus said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few." Ray and Marj Wachtmann were well aware of that plentiful harvest. They knew, too, that church workers—particularly those who choose to make it their profession—are too few in numbers.
Later in their lives, reflecting on her children and grandchildren, Marj often said, "God has been very good to us." Shortly before Ray was called from this world to be with his Lord, he and Marj acted on their thanksgiving to God for His goodness. They created the Raymond and Marjorie Wachtmann Family Endowment Fund.
